About Us

The Guitar Factory Parramatta is the western suburbs' longest continuously trading music store. Originally trading as Watsons Music from the early 1960's the store was purchased by Ross and Paul Chalker in 1972.

The current owners, Stan Mobbs and Lewis Mallia, took over the store in 1985 and the store has since gone from being solely guitars to a full line music store, with drums and percussion being introduced in the early 90s - operating as "Drum Factory" ever since.

In recent years, we've gained industry veteran and accomplished drum craftsman Nick Pansini as our manager of all things drums, and even moved into our own storefront at 257 Church Street, next door to Guitar Factory.

While we are all essentially one team, our specialty areas operate under three different banners, with Guitar Factory on level 1 of 255 Church Street, and Sound Devices on level 2.
Guitar Factory - for everything guitar related
Sound Devices - for all things hi-tech and pro audio related

We have a great group of specialist staff, covering a range of different instruments and musical areas. We're all musicians ourselves, most of us regularly playing live, so we have the experience and shared passion to help you find exactly what you need.
